About a month ago, Costco dropped a waffle cone bar cake that looks incredible. Several members of The Kitchn team have tried and loved other Costco bar cakes in the past<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Costco\u2019s latest bar cake is inspired by a classic waffle ice cream cone. It\u2019s definitely giving nostalgic scoop-shop vibes, but with a modern twist. Instead of ice cream, you get a spongy cake that\u2019s layered with cream, icing, caramel, and chocolate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The waffle cone inspo doesn\u2019t stop with just the miniature cones on the top \u2014 it\u2019s actually the flavor of the sponge cake itself. It\u2019s also got creamy layers of frosting, a waffle cone crumble, chocolate drizzle, caramel patches, and chocolate chunks layered throughout.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The cake can be found in the bakery section of Costco for $18.99. And it\u2019s a hefty one, too: It weighs over 2 pounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

My Honest Review of the Kirkland Signature Waffle Cone Bar Cake<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Oh my, this cake is\u00a0seriously<\/em> delicious. The frosting might be my favorite part. Instead of a thick, cling-to-your-mouth frosting, this one is whipped into perfection. It reminds me of the whipped cream topping that I\u2019d get on top of my ice cream sundaes when I was a kid, but it\u2019s also got a rich buttercream flavor and is speckled with chocolate chunks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The chocolate drizzle on top was such a great touch. It tasted like chocolate magic shell and hot fudge combined. (Those are two necessary ingredients for a good cone, in my opinion.) The sponge cake had a caramely and toasty flavor. There are pockets of caramel scattered in the dessert, and the cake itself did a good job of soaking it up without getting soggy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

While the little cones may look just like decoration, they are worth fighting over when serving this cake.<\/strong>\u00a0They are filled with hardened chocolate, just like everyone\u2019s favorite part of a Drumstick. I did watch a few\u00a0reviews\u00a0online, where the reviewers said the cones got a little too soft for them, which definitely is a bummer. I also didn\u2019t notice any of the crunchy caramel bits that are apparently layered in the cake (just like the\u00a0cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e bar cake, if you tried it).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
